Ayurveda & Prakruti Analusis

“Health is not just absence of disease but a state of complete physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.” – Philosophy of Ayurveda

According to Ayurveda, this universe, and the people living in it are made up of 5 elements (Tatva) – Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. The 5 elements of outer nature affect the 5 elements of your inner nature. Your body-type is defined by various proportions of three different Prakrutis or bio-energies also known as doshas, are the foundation for understanding yourself from an Ayurvedic perspective. Vaata (Air), Pitta (Acidity) and Kapha (Cold).

Ether and Air together constitute Vaata Prakruti with the key principle of Movement.

Fire and Water constitute Pitta Prakruti with the key principle of Transformation.

Water and earth constitute Kapha Prakruti with the key principle of Cohesion.

Ayurveda describes 7 basic body-types:

Apart from the 5 elements of the Universe, your Prakruti is also affected by your diet, your lifestyle and your surrounding environment, climate, emotional state, which may create Prakruti imbalances. This is known as a Vikruti. This has its effects on our psychology, our responses to situations, career choices, foods we crave, music we enjoy, how fast we talk, our energy levels, the colour of our eyes, the smoothness of our skin and the way we deal with stress.

Your prakruti or body type analysis will help you to create a balance within yourself by recommending daily or seasonal routines appropriate to your body-type.

Through Ayurveda, 5 O’Sense aims at keeping our Prakruti balanced by guiding you on healthy diet and correct lifestyle. Prevention is better than cure, and hence by taking preventative measures, which may include self massage with certain Ayurvedic oils recommended by your Doctor, yoga postures, meditation, herbs, colours, scents and other self-care practices on a regular basis and including these in your lifestyle will greatly put you in harmony with the Universe.
